Meet Our Providers

MEENAKSHI PATEL,
MD, FACP, MMM,CMD

Dr. Meenakshi Patel has been in practice in the Dayton area since 1987. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice and Palliative care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Sheis a certified Medical Director for long term care by the American Medical Directors Association-PA/LTC and serves as the Medical Director at several area nursing homes. She is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicineand is involved in teaching medical students, resident physicians and Geriatrics fellows.

Dr. Patel is very actively involved in research in several areas pertaining to the geriatric population, especially with regards to Alzheimer’s Dementia. She speaks nationally on various topics related to geriatric care at national symposiums, including the American Medical Directors’ Association PA/LTC.

Anton Vasiliu,
MD, CMD

Dr. Vasiliuhas been in practice in the Dayton area since 1992. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative care by the American Board of Internal Medicineand has a special interest in Geriatrics. He is the Medical Director at several nursing homes in Dayton area. 

Dr. Vasiliu is Assistant Professor at Wright State University and is involved in teaching medical students and resident physicians.

Gurjeet Kahlon,
MD, CMD

Dr. Kahlon has been serving the Dayton community since 2003. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, and Geriatrics Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine

He is a certified Medical Director for long term care by the American Medical Directors AssociationPA/LTC and serves as the Medical Director at several area nursing homes. Dr. Kahlon is also Assistant Professor at the Wright State University and is involved in teaching medical students.

Coca Anghelache,
CNP

Coca is a board certified Nurse Practitioner who joined Valley Medical Primary Care in November, 2009. She has been a Dayton area resident since 2000. She has a Bachelor Degree of Science in Nursing. She obtained her Masters Degree at Wright State University, Dayton Ohio.

Coca obtained her Doctorate of Nursing practice in September of 2016 from University of Kentucky/Frontier. Her doctoral thesis focused on Heart Failure related re-hospitalization prevention in skilled rehabilitation facilities.

Amelia Whitlach
FNP-C

Amelia has been a Nurse Practitioner in the Dayton area since 2011. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Wright State University in 2008, and worked at Miami Valley Hospital as RN in the trauma unit and the emergency department. She earned her Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Cincinnati in Aug 2011. She is accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has been a member of the Ohio Association of Advanced Nurse Practitioners since 2010.

Amelia began working as a full time nurse practitioner with the Trauma/Emergency General Surgery Service at Miami Valley Hospital and has been working with Valley Medical Primary Care since November 2016.

Lisa A. Rhodes ,
FNP-BC

Lisa joined Valley Medical primary care as a Nurse practitioner in 2015. She has enjoyed working as a registered nurse for 27 years and has been certified as a nurse practitioner since 2009. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Over the years Lisa has had the opportunity to work in variety of nursing disciplines but primarily has enjoyed a career working in the ER.  Additionally she has great love for Geriatric Medicine and has always maintained affinity towards working with elderly patients. This affinity led to her current career path as a nurse practioner enabling her to provide primary care to this special population.

Lisa is member of Gerontological Advanced Nurses Association and maintains certifications in BLS, ACLS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well as Trauma Nursing and Geriatric Nursing.
